Comprehend the molecular underpinnings of carcinogenesis and cancer progression, enabling participants to appreciate the biological aspects of cancer and their implications for surgical interventions.
Identify common patterns in cancer progression and patterns of recognition, providing surgical residents and consultants with tools for early diagnosis and tailored treatment planning.
Explore the importance of cancer prevention and screening, with a specific focus on the European Beating Cancer Plan, and grasp the significance of early detection in improving patient outcomes.
Discuss the integration of various treatment modalities, such as systemic chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and local ablation techniques, within a multimodal approach to managing cancer
